Jay attended the University of Western Ontario attaining a Bachelor in Economics and competed 3 years of varsity football. After graduation Jay competed in the America’s Cup, Europa Cup, and World Cup as a member of the Canadian National Bobsleigh team. He then went on to compete in powerlifting where he has earned multiple national titles and records, a world championship, and has won the prestigious Champion of Champions Award twice at the Raw Unity Meet Championships. Jay is passionate about all things physical culture and human performance. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is proudly sponsored by ANIMAL.
Pete attended Acadia and Dalhousie University attaining a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in Biomechanical Engineering. He competed in 4 years of varsity soccer with Acadia and Dalhousie and 2 years of varsity track and field at Dalhousie. He has been a member of the Canadian Army for 11 years as a Combat Engineer, including 5 years with the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command. Pete started CrossFit while deployed in Afghanistan in 2010 and has been involved ever since competing in Regionals and other competitions. He is an avid enthusiast of health and fitness, and presently holds his CrossFit Level 1 certification.
Samantha first moved to Ottawa to attend Carleton University where she attained a Bachelor in Law and Psychology. She then found CrossFit O-Town in 2012 and began learning the movements from square one at a very low level of fitness and conditioning as she was very unhealthy. By 2013 Samantha had dropped nearly half her bodyweight and competed in the Canada East Regionals with the CrossFit O-Town team. In the summer of 2013 she began coaching classes at the gym and has not looked back since. She currently holds her CrossFit Level 2 certificate and is the Silver Medalist at the 2016 Canadian Senior Weightlifting Championships. Samantha loves all things CrossFit and is very passionate about helping others improve.
Nikki attended the University of Ottawa attaining a Bachelor of Biopharmaceutical Science, specializing in Genomics. She started CrossFit in 2015 with limited experience in Olympic Weightlifting or powerlifting but quickly fell in love with the intensity and diversity of the sports. When she isn't training at the gym, Nikki works as a Biosafety Risk Analyst at the Public Health Agency of Canada. She enjoys obstacle races, running and helping kids during Sunday school at her church.
